How to connect in Portland, Ore? Just ask the nation's first "Twisitor Center"

The staff at our new Business Development Center has the inside scoop on the latest goings-on about Portland. "Twisitor Center", TravelPortland.com's new Twitter feature, is the first of its kind in the social media nation. Using tweets, Travel Portland makes it easy for those in the Portland area to find interesting, timely information regarding where to eat, what shows to see, and most importantly allowing for an intersection blogosphere and real world.

Twisitor users first tweet a question like: What social media events are going on this weekend? Twisitor staff members receive these tweets and respond with suggestions and links. Other Twitter users can also jump into the conversation, like @beerandblog-

@beerandblog "“ attn:PDX bloggers, come to Green Dragon 10/23 to meet up with area bloggers and enjoy free beer!

"With Twitter we can be more conversational and responsive," said Jeff Miller, Travel Portland's president and CEO. Twitter and other micro-blogging sites allow users to connect across the country, but also in their hometown.
